The Department of Biochemistry was established in 2014. Faculty members are involved in teaching basic and clinical Biochemistry to undergraduates, and in maintaining quality clinical diagnostic services as per the national standards.

The Department aims to teach pharmacological and therapeutic concepts in the background of a strong foundation in basic sciences which would promote better understanding of the practice of rational use of drugs.
