Scholarships at GITAM Deemed to be University

At GITAM, we empower exceptional futures by ensuring access to knowledge-driven applied education through various scholarships designed to attract high-quality students. Whether through merit-based rewards or need-based support, our scholarships are tailored to help you discover your ikigai while academically excelling.

Scholarships at GITAM Deemed to be University

Scholarship Types

Merit-Based Scholarships

Designed for top-performing students, our merit scholarships are available in slabs of 100%, 75%, 60%, 40%, 25%, and 15% of tuition fees, ensuring that academic excellence is rewarded.

Need-Based Scholarships

Providing additional financial support for students from lower-income families, these scholarships are layered on top of merit-based awards, creating a holistic support system for deserving students.

Hostel Scholarships

GITAM extends its support beyond tuition, with 100% and 75% tuition scholarship holders also eligible for equivalent discounts on hostel fees. Those with 60%, 40%, 25%, or 15% scholarships receive a 20% waiver on hostel fees, which includes accommodation and food.

Special Scholarships for Distinguished Groups

CRPF Scholarships

Honoring the families of CRPF personnel, GITAM offers two free seats in the Engineering stream across each of its three campuses. This scholarship covers tuition and hostel fees, further demonstrating GITAM’s commitment to compassion and national service.

Indian Navy Scholarships

GITAM salutes the Indian Navy by offering 100% tuition fee waivers for up to two wards of Naval personnel who have died in service, and 75% and 50% concessions for others based on their service status. This scholarship extends across a majority of our programs, supporting students as they embark on their transformative journeys.

Additional Scholarship Types

Employee Children Scholarships: 60%, 40%, and 20% scholarship options available based on employee status.

Loyalty Scholarships: A 10% concession for alumni returning for higher studies, siblings, children of alumni, and spouses of employees.

Sports Scholarships: For those excelling both in the classroom and in sports, GITAM offers up to 100% education fee coverage and hostel fee waivers ranging from 100% to 50%. This scholarship reflects our belief in holistic development, fostering future-ready graduates.

Eligibility and Conditions

Multiple Scholarships: Students eligible for multiple scholarships will be awarded the highest category. This ensures a fair and transparent selection process.

Continuation Criteria: Scholarships are maintained for subsequent years with a CGPA of 8.0 or higher. A CGPA between 7.5 and 8.0 results in a one-slab reduction, motivating students to strive for academic excellence.

Note: Need-based scholarships require parents’ tax documents for income verification to confirm eligibility.

Combining Scholarships

GITAM allows for the combination of scholarships up to 75%, prioritizing merit and management scholarships. The total amount of combined scholarships should not exceed this limit, ensuring equitable distribution among deserving students.

Application and Evaluation Process

Applying for need-based and sports scholarships involves submitting the necessary forms and documentation during the admission process. Sports scholarship applicants must also provide achievements from the past three years and participate in selection trials and interviews.

Key Terms and Conditions

Scholarships are reviewed annually based on academic performance and updated income documents.

Timely fee payment is essential to maintain eligibility for any scholarship.

The policy is effective from AY 2024-25 and applies to programs except for Kautilya School of Public Policy, MBBS, CDL, and PhD programs.

At GITAM, we take pride in offering opportunities that inspire joy in the pursuit of knowledge and provide students the support they need to thrive. Explore our comprehensive ecosystem of scholarships and embark on your journey towards academic and personal excellence.

Merit Scholarships

Students who exhibit exceptional performance in academics or sports receive Merit Scholarships. Students with consistently high scores or outstanding track records can apply for and qualify for financial aid from GITAM, provided they meet the eligibility criteria.

Sports Scholarships

In addition to providing state-of-the-art sporting facilities, GITAM (Deemed to be University) also extends Sports Scholarships to athletes who excel in
their chosen sports.
