The Centre emphasizes strategic planning, policy formulation, and the design of Training & Competency Development activities, while fostering corporate relationships. GCGC enhances classroom learning by providing training in career-specific skills and promoting human values. This holistic approach ensures students are well-prepared for their chosen careers upon graduation.

At GCGC

Effective mentoring, coaching, and counselling are essential for nurturing talent. While mentoring stands paramount worldwide, the primary objective of Career Counselling and Mentoring (CCM), one of the three verticals of GCGC, is the holistic personality development of our students through effective mentoring and empowering them to find and create the career of their dreams. Our faculty mentors carefully handhold young minds as they enter the portals of this university and provide personalized guidance to them as they take off into the world as empathetic human beings.

 

Faculty Accredited as Mentors

Our faculty members are meticulously trained through a Mentor Development Program(MDP) to enhance their counselling and mentoring abilities. Each mentor is initially accredited as a Certified Behaviour and Mentoring Analyst and then entrusted with the responsibility to guide and support students (mentees) right from their initial steps into the university till they step out as alumni. Through the MDP, the faculty mentors are trained to:

  • Imbibe the essential mentoring skills
  • Effectively adapt styles and
  • mentor students with different personalities

 

Personality Profiling of Mentees

Well-designed personality assessment of the first-year mentees is facilitated through external partners to:

  • enhance the self-awareness of the mentee
  • enable the mentor to identify an effective mentoring style
  • help the mentor channel the mentees’ energies in the right direction and
  • guide the mentee in making the right career choice

 

Online Mentoring Platform

We have a unique in-house online mentoring platform called ‘ADHVA’ to provide a smooth and easy process for:

  • documenting mentor-mentee meetings
  • tracking the progress of the mentees
  • reviewing the mentoring activity

 

This platform facilitates easier and more consistent documentation of the mentor-mentee meetings and helps track the mentee’s progress more effectively. Based on the feedback received from the stakeholders, this mentoring platform is upgraded regularly.

 

With the support from the Schools and the commitment of the faculty mentors, CCM strives to offer solutions to all aspects of a mentee's journey, from academic progress to personal growth, fostering a rewarding experience for our students within and beyond GITAM.

GITAM Career Guidance Centre is a strategic initiative launched by the University to fulfil the career aspirations of our primary stakeholders: the student community through the provision of career services as per the choice of the individual student. 


While the inputs come from external stakeholders (Corporate, Industries & HEIs of eminence), the value added is through joining hands with the academic departments and through external training partners where desired.

 

While the focus has been on transformational excellence, CGC has set a few records within a short time including the number of recruiters visiting the University, Multiple Offers, challenging opportunities for the students in Formative years, admissions in HEIs of eminence, etc.
