Anti-Caste-based Discrimination Policy
GITAM (Deemed to be University) is committed to fostering an inclusive and discrimination-free environment. We strictly condemn caste-based discrimination and ensure equal treatment for all, regardless of caste or social background.
Reporting Discrimination
If you witness or experience caste-based discrimination, please report it to the designated authorities at GITAM. We have established a transparent and confidential complaint mechanism to promptly and impartially investigate such incidents.
Action and Support
Upon receiving a complaint, we take swift action against the responsible individuals. Punishments may range from verbal warnings and sensitivity training to disciplinary measures such as written reprimands, probation, suspension, or expulsion. Support services, including counselling, are available for affected individuals.
Committee Composition
To ensure fair proceedings, we have constituted a committee comprising members from the SC/ST/OBC category to investigate complaints of discrimination from students, teachers, and non-teaching staff.
Awareness and Sensitization
We actively promote awareness and sensitivity regarding caste-based discrimination through various initiatives and programs within our university community.
Non-Retaliation
We assure protection against retaliation for individuals reporting incidents of caste-based discrimination, fostering a safe and supportive environment for all.
At GITAM (Deemed to be University), we strive to create a campus where everyone feels respected, valued, and empowered, regardless of caste or social background.
