Rakesh M Krishnan earned his doctorate from the Department of Sociology, University of Hyderabad. Before joining GITAM, he lectured in Sociology and Economics at Symbiosis School for Liberal Arts (Pune), National Law School of India University (Bengaluru), FLAME University (Pune), and M. G. College (Thiruvananthapuram). In the past, as a research associate, he assisted in the production of books and journals for Sage, Routledge, and Oxford University Presses.
