About
Saratchandra Babu Mukkamala has been working in GITAM since 1991 and currently heading the GITAM Institute of Science since January 2019. He received his Master’s degree in Chemistry in 1988 and Ph.D. in 1992 from Andhra University, Visakhapatnam. He has been a Visiting Scientist at the University of Durban-Westville, South Africa (2001), a DFG Postdoctoral Fellow at Institute of Inorganic Chemistry, University of Karlsruhe, Germany (2001-2004) and a NSF Postdoctoral Fellow at National Tsing Hua University, Taiwan (2005-2007). He visited several universities at USA, Canada, Japan, Australia and Singapore on academic assignment. He is a recipient of the Best Researcher award twice from GITAM in 2010 and 2012. His research interests include Synthesis of Metal-Organic Frameworks and Carbon nanotubes for gas storage applications, Luminescent nanomaterials for Technological & biomedical applications.Education
