Department of Physics

The department of physics provides high quality physics education, producing well prepared BSc graduates who are confident in their abilities and understanding of physics. It also promotes research and creative activities of students by providing exposure to the realm of physical science and technical expertise.

Highly Qualified Faculty

The faculty members are active in research and published 76 research papers during the last five year in reputed journals (SCI indexed) with an average impact factor of 1.15. In addition, three research projects were completed funded by UGC, the department has collaboration with BARC and involved in research projects funded by it.

Prolific Research Initiatives

The department is recognized as DST – FIST sponsored program and sanctioned Rs.142 Lakhs to strengthen the research activity in the areas of Materials Science and Nuclear Physics. At present, Four research projects in the inter disciplinary areas are in progress. The department regularly conducts national / international workshops / conferences/seminars in emerging areas of Physics and electronics.
