About
Georgitta Joseph Valiyamattam is presently Assistant Professor in the Dept. of Applied Psychology at School of Gandhian Studies. A gold medallist during her Masters in Psychology, she recently submitted her doctoral dissertation at Andhra University prior to which she worked as a Fulbright-Nehru Doctoral scholar at the University of Purdue. Apart from her specialization in developmental disabilities, she is keenly interested in various aspects of Human-animal Interaction and bonding and the One Health Movement. She has completed advanced training in Neuropsychology and Autism from the Harvard Medical School, holds an advanced certification in Animal-assisted therapy from the University of North Texas and is also a certified Animal Behaviour consultant under the International Association of Animal Behaviour Consultants. Georgitta has several publications to her credit in peer-reviewed national and international journals. With her Bachelors majoring in Psychology and English Literature, she is also keenly interested in writing and oratory and freelances for the popular national youth magazine Youth Action.
