Prof. M. V. Ram Prasad is a Mechanical Engineering graduate from Acharaya Nagarjuna University, Andhra Pradesh . He did his masters in Business Administration from Andhra University and has a Ph. D in management from Berhampur University .He is also a postdoctoral fellow from UGC. He was the Director of GITAM School of Business, Bengaluru for about seven years since its inception. With over 30 years of teaching and research experience he continues to impart knowledge to the students of PG and UG programs by teaching   a number of choice based courses in the marketing domain such as Sales and Distribution Management and Customer Relationship Management.
Prof. Ramprasad was conferred UGC National Research Award by University Grants Commission (UGC),New Delhi for  Post Doctoral Research on Consumer Preferences in Dairy Industry –A Study of Andhra Pradesh. He completed three research projects in the area of Marketing and Consumer Studies. He also published two books and 80 research papers in national and international journals. He conducted quite a few MDPs and undertook consultancy projects for NTPC-Simhadri, Korba, Unchahar, Singrauli; Indian Postal Services and Heritage Foods. He attended 35 national and International conferences and seminars.
Prof.Ramprasad was the recipient of best teacher and best researcher awards from GITAM University. He also received CII-Industrial Fellowship from Confederation of Indian Industry and   Impact Outstanding B School Marketing Award as HOD of Marketing Department of GITAM Institute of Management, Visakhapatnam.
Prof.RamPrasad successfully guided six PhD and five M.Phil scholars. His current teaching and research interests are in the areas of consumer preferences and studies.
