As a tertiary care hospital, we are fully equipped to handle neonatal and pediatric emergencies, supported by Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) services 24/7. These facilities contribute significantly to achieving one of the lowest mortality rates in the hospital. The department is adequately staffed and provides continuous newborn care, regular and specialty outpatient clinics, and inpatient services for children up to 16 years of age. We emphasize compassionate, high-quality care with effective communication involving both children and their parents or caregivers.
Immunization is a cornerstone of our community disease prevention efforts and we conduct regular vaccination clinics. The department is also actively involved in community outreach - organizing regular health camps in both urban and rural areas.
Our undergraduate and postgraduate academic program is structured in accordance with National Medical Commission (NMC) guidelines. Students gain hands-on experience with a wide range of pediatric cases during clinical postings, regular training in simulation lab and use of modern teaching methodologies, enhancing both their knowledge and clinical skills. In addition, we provide instruction to postgraduate critical care nursing students (M.Sc., NPCC) and physiotherapy students, regularly conduct training programs for pediatric and neonatal nursing staff to continually advance their clinical competencies.
