About the Project

This project focuses on developing a predictive inference model for early detection of soil-borne plant diseases by integrating soil microbiome profiling, environmental parameters, and computational modeling. The work aims to advance sustainable agriculture by reducing crop losses, pesticide use, and improving soil health.

Positions Available:

Data Scientist

Highlights:
Job Title: Data Scientist
Salary: Rs 37,000/- per month
Duration: 18 months
Location: Bengaluru ( Travel Included )

Qualification: PG Degree (MCA / M.Sc. (Computer Science) / M. Tech CSE/DS/AI) – with or without JRF.

Desired qualification: Experience with Python/R /R, machine learning frameworks, statistical modelling, or prior exposure to biological/agricultural datasets.

Responsibilities:

Develop and implement Machine Learning/Deep Learning /AI-based predictive models linking soil microbiome, environmental, and disease data.
Work with microbiologists and field teams to integrate datasets (molecular, soil parameters, weather, imagery).
Analyze results and generate reports for stakeholders and funding agency.

Microbiologist

Highlights:
Job Title: Microbiologist
Salary: Rs 37,000/- per month
Duration: 18 months
Location: Bengaluru ( Travel Included )

Qualification: Master’s degree in Microbiology (M.Sc.) – with or without JRF.

Desired qualification: Experience in microbial ecology, soil microbiology, or molecular biology techniques (PCR, sequencing sample prep).

Responsibilities:

Perform microbial soil sampling, DNA extraction, and laboratory assays for microbiome profiling.
Collaborate with sequencing labs and assist in interpreting microbial community data.
Maintain soil microbial culture collections and ensure proper documentation.

Field Assistant

Highlights:
Job Title: Field Assistant

Qualification: Minimum 12th pass.

Responsibilities:

Assist in field-level soil sample collection and metadata recording (GPS, crop type, farm conditions).
Support project logistics, sample handling, and farmer engagement.

General Information for all Job Posts:

The posts are purely temporary and co-terminus with the project.
Selected candidates will be required to work in Bengaluru Rural district field sites and coordinate with collaborating laboratories.
