PhD in Law

Eligibility

  • Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in Law (regular mode) and an LLM degree (regular mode) in any discipline from a recognised university.
  • A degree in law and a master's degree in law are deemed equivalent to an MPhil degree from an Indian institution or a foreign educational institution accredited by UGC regulations.
  • A judge of any state high court in India with at least three years of experience or a judge of the Supreme Court of India or a member of a tribunal.

Scope of the Programme

The PhD in Law programme offers an extensive exploration of legal theories, practices, and their intersections with societal, political, and economic structures. This programme is designed for scholars who seek to contribute to the advancement of legal knowledge through rigorous research and critical analysis.
