Scope
The Centre for Cultural Studies is setting out to unpack critical issues surrounding production and consumption, speech and ideology, and alternatives to dominant practices, all within the framework of local histories and global developments. These elements are crucial in shaping our cultural imagination, educational systems, and policy-making for years to come.

Objectives
At the Centre for Cultural Studies, we aim to train students to comprehend the contingent conjunctions that create contemporary Indian culture and apply their conceptual and theoretical understanding to current real-world cultural processes. By participating in the lectures, events and workshops hosted by the Centre, GITAM ites will:
- Acquire critical perspectives on media industries such as film, photography, theatre, literature, music, etc.
- Analyse the impact of cultural processes on everyday life
- Apply novel ideas to drive societal changes
