Programme Outcomes (POs)

PO1: Pharmacy Knowledge - Possess knowledge and comprehension of the core and basic knowledge associated with the profession of pharmacy, including biomedical sciences, pharmaceutical sciences, behavioural, social, and administrative pharmacy sciences, and manufacturing practices.
PO2: Planning Abilities - Demonstrate effective planning abilities, including time management, resource management, delegation skills, and organizational skills. Develop and implement plans and organize work to meet deadlines.
PO3: Problem analysis - Utilize the principles of scientific inquiry, thinking analytically, clearly, and critically while solving problems and making decisions during daily practice. Find, analyze, evaluate, and apply information systematically and shall make defensible decisions.
PO4: Modern tool usage - Learn, select, and apply appropriate methods and procedures, resources, and modern pharmacy-related computing tools with an understanding of the limitations.
PO5: Leadership skills - Understand and consider the human reaction to change, motivation issues, leadership, and team-building when planning changes required for the fulfilment of practice, professional, and societal responsibilities. Assume participatory roles as responsible citizens or leadership roles when appropriate to facilitate improvement in health and wellbeing.
PO6: Professional Identity - Understand, analyze, and communicate the value of their professional roles in society (e.g., health care professionals, promoters of health, educators, managers, employers, employees).
PO7: Pharmaceutical Ethics - Honor personal values and apply ethical principles in professional and social contexts. Demonstrate behaviour that recognizes cultural and personal variability in values, communication, and lifestyles. Use ethical frameworks; apply ethical principles while making decisions and take responsibility for the outcomes associated with the decisions.
PO8: Communication - Communicate effectively with the pharmacy community and with society at large, such as being able to comprehend and write effective reports, make effective presentations and documentation, and give and receive clear instructions.
PO9: The Pharmacist and society - Apply reasoning informed by contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, and legal issues as well as the consequent responsibilities relevant to professional pharmacy practice.
PO10: Environment and sustainability - Understand the impact of professional pharmacy solutions in societal and environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge of and need for sustainable development.
PO11: Life-long learning - Recognize the need for and have the preparation and ability to engage in independent and life-long learning in the broadest context of technological change. Self-assess and use feedback effectively from others to identify learning needs and satisfy these needs on an ongoing basis.

- Dr. Bappaditya Chatterjee has been recognized among the World’s Top 2% Most Cited Researchers by Stanford–Elsevier for 2024.
- Dr. Priya Singh, secured First Prize in oral presentation at the National Conference on Advances in Drug Discovery, Development & Patenting: Challenges & Opportunities, organized by MNR College of Pharmacy, Hyderabad, April 2025.
- Dr. Pooja Mittal, achieved a registered design patent for AI-Powered Health Monitoring Device under the Designs Act, 2000, granted by the Patent Office, Government of India on 08 Feb 2025.
- Dr. Priya Singh has been awarded Certificate of Distinction in the IUCEE International Engineering Educator Certification Program (Fall 2024), certified by IUCEE Foundation and IGIP, Austria.
- Dr. Rakesh Barik achieved successful completion of the IUCEE International Engineering Educator Certification Program (Fall 2024), certified by IUCEE Foundation and IGIP, Austria.
- Dr. Ashish Ranjan Dwivedi has been awarded for presenting a paper in the Young Scientist Award category at International Conference on Translational Trends in Natural and Health Sciences (TTNHS-2024), organized by the Central University of Punjab, Bathinda, 4 th –6 th December 2024.
- Dr. Prateek Pathak has been awarded for presenting a paper in the Young Scientist Award category at International Conference on Translational Trends in Natural and Health Sciences (TTNHS-2024), organized by the Central University of Punjab, Bathinda, 4 th –6 th December 2024.

Highlights:
- Sriram Anandaraman (2025) secured admission to the Pharmaceutical Sciences (M.Sc./P.Grad.Dip.) program for 2025/26 as a full-time student at Trinity College Dublin, the University of Dublin, one of the world’s leading universities.
- B. Ashritha Reddy, Year2 student was awarded First Prize in the E-Poster competition at the National level E-Poster and Oral Presentations, organized by Pulla Reddy Institute of Pharmacy on 28th February 2025.
- Jaihind Bharti, Research Scholar was awarded Third Prize in poster presentation at International Conference on Translational Trends in Natural and Health Sciences (TTNHS-2024), organized by the Central University of Punjab, Bathinda, 4 th –6 th December 2024.
- Prasad Karnati, Year 2 student (M.Pharm) and his team secured a place in the final round of 'Destination Dr. Reddy's,' competing against teams from institutes of national repute.
- A.S. Venkata Gopal and P. Lokesh Verma were awarded best presenter in poster presentation in the International Conference named HealthCare Next 2024, Vishakhapatnam, India.

Pursuit of Research Excellence

GITAM School of Pharmacy has achieved outstanding research milestones with a strong and consistent publication record over the years. Its research covers diverse areas such as novel drug molecules for neurodegenerative and cancer diseases, advanced drug delivery systems, nanotheranostics, 3D printing, and sustained release formulations. The School reached a peak of 33 publications in Q2 of 2023–24 and 27 in Q1 of 2024–25, reflecting steady growth in quality research. These achievements show the dedication of faculty and researchers to innovation and excellence in pharmaceutical sciences. Consistent contributions across all quarters highlight the School’s momentum in research productivity. Overall, GITAM School of Pharmacy stands as a hub for impactful, innovative, and globally relevant pharmaceutical research.
