The Department of Mechanical Engineering was established during the year 2010, the department has well established labs with latest equipment to facilitate students to acquire practical skills. The curriculum is designed not only to provide good knowledge in basic sciences, mathematics, basic engineering and core engineering subjects but also facilitates students to learn communication skills and personality development.

Faculty are active in research and the thrust areas are Fatigue, Mechanisms, Friction Stir Welding, Nano-materials, Optimization of manufacturing, Composite Materials and Finite Element Analysis.
