About the School

GITAM School of Business (GSB), a constituent of GITAM (Deemed to be University) in Hyderabad, is renowned for quality management education, research, training, and consultancy. Established in 1980, GITAM is a prestigious university with campuses in Visakhapatnam, Hyderabad, and Bengaluru. Accredited with an A+ grade by NAAC, GITAM holds Category '1' status and Graded Autonomy from the Ministry of HRD. GSB offers a comprehensive range of programs including MBA, M.Phil, and Ph.D. in management, along with undergraduate programs like BBA, BBA (Financial Markets) in collaboration with NSE Academy, BBA with CIMA, and BBA/BCom (Hons.) with ACCA. Industry Collaborations

The main purpose of doing impactful research is not only to prove or disprove a theory as well as develop or contribute to knowledge in the field, but also to create bigger impact by contextualizing the findings in the wider policies and practices of the society. Hence many universities and higher education institutes apply for grants and funding from governments and businesses to enable impactful research. While publishing in premier journals is very important as their subscription and reach is high, creating an impact story is also gaining importance and credibility. Hence this course is designed:

  • To provide hands on experience in writing research proposals for funded projects as well as publishing in premier journals.
  • To provide knowledge on understanding philosophy and designing research elements as well as on theoretical integration.

Management Development Programmes of GITAM Institute of Management are designed with an objective of delivering short-duration quality programs for the working executives of industry and government sector. These programmes are designed to provide insights into managerial concepts and techniques which will equip them with the advanced knowledge and skills in the evolving realities of business and management practices. Participants gain an overall perspective for decision making by integrating functional and general management approaches. The participants get chance to familiarize themselves with the latest tools, techniques and skills which will help them to address the distinct needs at various points in their career. We offer MDPs in general management as well as all functional areas like Finance, Business Analytics, Marketing, OB &HR, Operations and General Management.

Open MDPs

These are short duration programme usually 1-3 days in duration with participation open to all practicing/experienced managers and/or executives. The pedagogy employed involves a variety of teaching methods such as case studies, simulations, role plays, Interactive group works and lecture sessions on theory and practice. The MDP office always strives to enhance the learning quotient of the executives and help them to continuously update their learning curve by developing and offering an array of innovative and diverse programmes.

Customized programmes

These programmes are designed to address specific Executive Learning and/or Corporate Training mandates from individual organisations. The MDP office carries out a detailed needs-analysis of the training requirements of the client and design courses in collaboration with the organisation and can be scheduled at a mutually convenient date and venue. Few of the organizations for which GIM conducts the programmes include Vizag Port Trust, Mylan Pharma, Dr Reddy’s Lab, Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited, Dredging Corporation of India, Naval Dockyard, NTPC, Larsen & Toubro, MMTC, Coca Cola and HSBC .

Venkat Rao Malluvajhula MBA Class of 2002 is a dynamic professional currently serving as the Vice President and Country Head (SendTech) for ANZ, India, and ASEAN at Pitney Bowes.
