Nagaveni Shivshetty earned her Ph.D. from Gulbarga University, Karnataka, in collaboration with NIMHANS, Bengaluru. She completed a post-doctoral fellowship funded by Wellcome Trust, UK, between L V Prasad Eye Institute, Hyderabad, and the University of Sheffield, UK. Her early research expertise includes polymers, hydrogels, ex-vivo organ culture, and biocompatibility studies. At GITAM, her research interests are bacteriophage therapy, alternative proteins, and food packaging.
