Dr. Laxminarsimha Rao received both his MTech and PhD degrees in Mechanical Engineering from IIT Kanpur. During his time there, he pursued research problems in Biomechanics and Planetary Science. He was a National Postdoctoral Fellow. During his postdoctoral stint at JNCASR Bangalore, he delved into Microfluidics and Contact Mechanics. Dr. Rao would like to explore fundamental problems observed in nature as well as those with significant engineering relevance.
