Study M. Tech Machine Design

A 2-year M.Tech. Machine Design programme strives to produce innovative, entrepreneurial, and successful engineers and technologists of high caliber for the nation, to serve as a valuable resource for industry, academia, and society. The programme enables students to develop deep insights into mechanical concepts related to machine design leading to a successful career.

Our M.Tech. Machine Design programme provides the necessary knowledge of mechanical engineering practices such as design, manufacturing, thermal sciences, automation, and industrial engineering to find solutions for complex mechanical system issues. It also teaches how to apply mathematical skills in the design and analysis of model generations and analysis.  A degree in this programme will cover the following topics:

  • Advanced mechanics of machinery
  • Mechanical vibrations
  • Computational methods in engineering
  • Mechanics of composite materials
  • Product design and vehicle dynamics

Additionally, the programme will also train the graduates on modern engineering tools, software, and equipment to analyze and solve complex mechanical engineering problems. Students will also develop the skills of good researchers to work on a problem, starting from scratch, to research literature, methodologies, techniques, and tools, and conduct experiments and interpret data.

Scope of M.Tech. Machine Design

Upon the completion of the programme, students will attain the ability to apply the fundamental knowledge of machine design in synthesis, analysis, design, and development of components/machines using modern engineering tools. Graduates will also possess advanced knowledge and understanding, thus, enabling them to tackle practical design problems in industrial fields, as well as pursue further academic achievements through research.
