M.Tech. Data Science

A 2-year M.Tech. Data Science programme is designed to develop proficient data scientists and professionals capable of creating novel data analysis solutions and tools. This programme enhances students' technical skills, making them highly employable in the industry. The curriculum is geared towards producing data engineers with the knowledge and skills to contribute to a sustainable society.

The M.Tech. Data Science programme at GITAM offers an extensive curriculum, covering both fundamental and advanced topics in Data Science. The curriculum includes core and elective courses, enabling students to specialize in areas such as Data Management for Machine Learning, Ethics for Data Science, Optimization Techniques for Analytics, and Natural Language Processing.

M.Tech. Data Science

Eligibility

A minimum of 50% or 5.0 CGPA aggregate marks in B.E./B.Tech./AMIE in any branch of Engineering or its equivalent from a recognized Central / State University or its equivalent and Qualified in GAT.

Scope of the Programme

Graduates of the M.Tech. Data Science programme will be equipped to identify, formulate, and provide efficient data-driven solutions to complex business problems. The programme emphasizes advanced computing techniques, preparing students to design and develop software and hardware solutions for multidisciplinary and transdisciplinary challenges in data science.

Scholarships

Merit-Based Scholarships

The scholarship from GAT/National/State Entrance Tests applies only in the first year. To continue receiving it in subsequent years, a minimum CGPA of 8.0 must be maintained.

Apart from the above, the following scholarships are also offered to eligible students.

  • Employee Children Scholarships: (60%, 40%, and 20%)
  • Loyalty Scholarships: (10% for Any alumni returning to do higher studies/Children of Alumni/Real siblings (Not applicable to step siblings or cousins)/Children of retired employees of GITAM/Spouse of GITAM employees).
  • Sports Scholarships: (100%, 75%, 50%, 25% and 15%)

Need-Based Scholarships

  • To be eligible for the need-based scholarship, the combined income of both parents/guardians of the eligible student/If the student is married, the combined income of the family, i.e., the student's and spouse's income, must be less than 8.00 LPA.
  • The candidates admitted through merit scholarship in the slabs of 75%, 60%, 40%, 25%,and 15%, and the parents/guardians combined income is less than the prescribed limits are eligible for the additional need-based scholarship.

Scholarships For Accommodation

  • In addition, students awarded need-based scholarships after merit scholarships will receive an additional 20% scholarship specifically allocated for hostel fees at GITAM for slabs: 15%, 25%, 40%, and 60%.
  • Students awarded 75% & 100% scholarships are also awarded the same percentage in the hostel and food charges.
