About

Dr. Nidhi Mishra has done her Ph. D. in the area of Psycho-Social Gerontology from the Department of Psychology (Centre for Advanced Studies), Central University of Allahabad.

She has worked in national and international research projects which focused on various psycho-social issues like health and wellbeing, environmental issues, identity and collective experiences, experiences of stigmatized and marginalized groups, ageing issues and inclusive education. In addition to this, she has designed and conducted workshops and capacity building training programs for some prestigious organizations like Central Board of Secondary Education and United Nations Population Funds (UNFPA), India on various academic and social issues.

She has represented India in the United Nations International Programme in Policy Formulation, Planning, Implementation and Monitoring of the Madrid International Plan of Action on Ageing at Malta in 2013. And has worked as a Consultant at Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai, for the prestigious United Nations Population Fund’s (UNFPA) Ageing project in India. Along with academic work, she has extensive experience of working in social and developmental sector where she was mainly involved in designing action based projects for the welfare of elderly and special children.

She is a member of Association of Gerontology (India) and Indian Association for Social Sciences and Health.
