Dr. Prabhavati Y. obtained her MPhil and PhD from JNTU, Hyderabad, and MA and BA in English from Andhra University. She has 31 years of experience in teaching English language and literature. Before joining GITAM Hyderabad in 2010 she served for 21 years at St. Ann’s College for Women, Hyderabad. She has published quality research papers, book chapters, and books in her areas of interest that include practical spirituality, cultural studies, women’s writing, and critical thinking in teaching/learning. She has a passion for teaching and love of learning.
She is engaged in theatre and translation for non-profit organizations. As part of her pro bono work, she develops and delivers training sessions on positive communication, empathetic leadership, change management, work-life balance, and building resilience. She conducts group training as well as one-on-one sessions and has helped organizational leadership adapt to the rapidly changing socio-cultural and communication landscape over the past couple of decades. She trains leaders from different fields including academics, corporate executives, doctors, police officers, social workers, and human rights activist groups. As a trainer/coach she facilitates the process of bridging the gaps between leadership, their teams, the organization, and the society at large.
