Aashti Salman is a Sociologist with a strong background in qualitative methods and interested in a multi-method approach to field research. Her areas of specialisation include social mobility, aspirations, employment and education of youth in India. She is interested in understanding how youth negotiate their aspirations and make claims for social mobility in the contemporary times and in the process challenge, subvert and reproduce axes of stratification.
