Welcome to the Department of Chemistry at GITAM University.
Chemistry is a rapidly developing and incessantly explored subject that happens to be the crux to the unfolding of many of today’s global issues. The Department of Chemistry with highly qualified and experienced faculty and the state of art laboratories, is presently offering post-graduate programs in Analytical Chemistry, Organic Chemistry and a 5-year Integrated M.Sc., Chemistry. The industrial training given to the final year students impart real professional skills to the young graduates in addition to the required academic background.
The Department also offers M.Phil and Ph.D programs in different areas of chemistry. The research activities of the department involves areas like chemistry of nanomaterials, new biomaterials and porous materials, nanoceramics, environmental analysis, analytical techniques, analysis of drugs, organic synthesis, chemistry of natural products and chemical kinetics.
