The department of Electronics and Instrumentation established in the year 1995, has now grown at full fledge pace with all essential and well sophisticated instruments required for laboratory and research activities. It offers 4 year B.E. under graduate programme in Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering and Post graduate Programme in Electronic Instrumentation.
This course provides students with sound theoretical & practical training in the operation and design of electronic instruments, digital logic systems, and computer based automatic process control etc. During the final year, the focus is on more advanced electives such as robotics, biomedical engineering, Advanced sensors, Virtual Instrumentation, fiber optic instrumentation etc. Apart from the course work, students are trained in Matlab, micro-controller and embedded systems. To meet the industrial requirements of future, students are also made to become well versed with personal computer applications in instrumentation, process control system design, PLCs, Microprocessors experimentation, Industrial Electronics & applications, and Virtual instrumentation.
The department conducts career development programmes with objective of improving the communication skills, personality development, and tips for facing the interview, technical writing etc. by inviting external expert lectures. As a result of this effort, the students are faring well in the campus interviews and University Examinations. The department monitors the student's progress regularly and providing necessary counseling at various levels towards achieving better results. The students are encouraged to take active part in cultural programmes, paper presentation, quiz programmes, sports, etc.
The faculty members are young and highly motivated. In the academic research, the department contributes quality papers regularly to reputed journals and conferences. Most of faculty members of the department are involved in research work in emerging areas and the department has enough infrastructure and facilities to carry out research activities. The research activities carried out in this department by the faculty are the major strength of the department.
