College of
Engineering, GITAM – affiliated to Andhra University - was
established by a team of public-spirited industrialists and
socially conscious distinguished personalities of Visakhapatnam
city. GITAM is located on a picturesque campus with its sylvan
surroundings, overlooking the blue waters of Bay of Bengal with
the backdrop of green Rushikonda hills, a natural tourist spot
on the beach front. Its serene and peaceful atmosphere and
salubrious climate supported by full greenery make it an ideal
place for healthy and undistracted pursuit of knowledge and
skills by the students. The Institute has the unique privilege
of being situated away from the noise and buzz of the city in a
calm and serene environment near the sea sands.
It has spacious campus extending over an area of about hundred
acres, with lush green atmosphere. It has developed over the
years excellent infrastructural facilities including several
imposing academic buildings, a well-equipped Computer Center,
inter connected by area networks, an Internet link and a good
Learning Resource Center such as Library, Audio-Visual Lab.
etc. With all infrastructural facilities available, GITAM, is
poised to develop and grow and it is envisioned that it would
acquire a status of a deemed University in the years to come.
Coincidentally GITAM
enters its successful twenty first year as the world enters
twenty first century.
