Changing legal perceptions, both national and international, have necessitated a re-look at the existing pattern of legal education all over the world. The emergence of Law Schools/Law Universities in India has substantially improved the quality of legal education. As our honourble President has rightly said, the need for highly skilled legal professionals to adore the Bar, Bench & Corporate sector is imperative and perennial. It is in this context, GITAM University established the School of Law at its Visakhapatnam campus.

The School of Law will act as a “pace–setter and a testing ground for bold experiments in legal education”. The School aims to strive for better legal education and maintain higher standards of legal research and training. With its complete administrative and academic autonomy, together with flexibility for innovation and experimentation in the pursuit of excellence, the School is sure to emerge as one of the outstanding institutions of legal learning and research in India.

The fully residential nature of this institution will lay a special emphasis on soft skills, draftings, pleadings and conveyancing, making a marked distinction from the traditional Law schools / colleges in India. Besides this, the School will impart special skills to the students relevant to their ambitions and attitudes. The School has a very strong and extremely dedicated teaching faculty with decades of experience in teaching and research.
