Admissions

Candidates seeking admission in B. Arch programme of GITAM School of Architecture, GITAM University are required to be qualified either in NATA, (conducted by Council of Architecture, New Delhi) or JEE (Main) B.Arch, (conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education). Admission is based on the rank obtained as per the marks secured in both, the qualifying examination and the architectural aptitude test.


Eligibility Criteria:
  • A minimum of 50% aggregate marks with Mathematics as a subject of the examination at the Higher Secondary or Equivalent (10+2) level in ANY GROUP from a recognized Central/State Board.
  • A pass in National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) conducted by Council of Architecture (CoA), New Delhi, either in 2012 or 2013. For more details visit "www.nata.in",  (or) 
  • A pass in JEE (Main) B.Arch conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) in 2013. For more details visit "www.jeemain.nic.in".

 

NOTE: In order to pass the National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA), a candidate must obtain a minimum of 40%                 marks. For further particulars of NATA, please visit “www.nata.in

 

Test Centre: GITAM School of Architecture (AP-11) is an approved NATA TEST CENTRE.

How to Apply:

 

  • Applications can be downloaded from the above download links. (GITAM website http://www.gitam.edu/GSA/Content.aspx?id=934).
  • Applications are available throughout India in Union Bank of India (List of Branches are available on the websites) Indian Bank (List of Branches are available on the websites).
  • Filled-in applications along with attested copies of the following certificates and the prescribed fee of Rs.600/- in the form of DD drawn in favor of ‘GITAM University’ payable at Visakhapatnam, should reach the Director, GITAM School of Architecture, GITAM UNIVERSITY, Rushikonda, Visakhapatnam-530 045, A.P., India on or before 29th June 2013.

  1. Date of Birth extract of SSC / ICSE / CBSE / Matriculation certificate
  2. Intermediate / 10+2 certificate
  3. NATA Score Card or JEE (Main) B.Arch Score Card
  4. Caste Certificate issued by appropriate authority for claiming reservation under SC/ST
  5. Medical Certificate issued by appropriate authority for claiming under PH category

 

Merit Rank:

All the candidates who meet the requirements of eligibility criteria will be awarded a rank as per the marks secured in both, the qualifying examination and architectural aptitude test which holds the following weightage order:

•   Qualifying Examination: (10+2 or 12th)                            : 50% weightage (maximum)

•   Architectural Aptitude Test: NATA or JEE(Main) B.Arch       : 50% weightage (maximum)

Reservation of Seats:

Admission to B.Arch program shall be made on the basis of rank awarded as per the marks secured in both, the qualifying examination and architectural aptitude test subject to the rule of reservation as applicable to GITAM University.
