Established in the year 2000, the department of Information Technology offers B.Tech, M.Tech and Doctoral programme. The aim of the department is to develop students with commitment and connect them to Industry with proper alignment and Deploy with optimum capability to achieve excellent performance.

The research areas of the department is in the field of Algorithms in Bioinformatics, Computer Networks and Security, Database and Data Mining, Image Processing and applications, Mobile Computing, Semantic Web , Software Engineering and Testing. 33 students have been registered for Ph. D in the department. All faculty members are involved in active research, Journal Publications and Conference Proceedings .

All Student are mentored by the faculty members. Academic monitoring committee frequently monitors the progress of classwork and other grievances. Student Chapters like CSI,IEEE and ISTE enable peer learning through the conduct of various programmes like Technical - Quiz, Conferences, Symposiums, workshops etc. Students are involved in social services like NCC,NSS,Rotract club,YGOI etc.

The placement record of the department had always been impressive with a salary range of Rs 3.00 to 16.00 Lakhs per annum.The major recruiters are Microsoft, Yahoo, Headstrong, iGate, Accenture, Wipro, TCS, HCL, Tech Mahindra, CSC, HP, Capital IQ,CAP Gemini etc.
