Anand Paranjpe is Emeritus Professor of Psychology and Humanities at Simon Fraser University in Canada, where he has been teaching since 1967. His more recent work is focused on the understanding of psychological principles embedded in the intellectual and spiritual traditions of India. His important publications include Handbook of Indian Psychology (edited with K. Ramakrishna Rao and Ajit Dalal) (2008), Self and Identity in Modern Psychology and Indian Thought (New York, Plenum, 1998) and Theoretical Psychology: The Meeting of East and West (New York, Plenum, 1984). His academic honours include a Smith-Mundt and Fulbright award for post-doctoral research at Harvard University in 1966–67, and his election as the Fellow of the Canadian Psychological Association in 2004. |
